A Cessna 208 went into a nosedive, dropping more than 3,000 feet in just 16 seconds, according to flight data, after the pilot suffered a medical emergency. Air traffic controller and flight instructor Bobby Morgan was able to talk a passenger through the situation and to a perfect landing.

Several years ago, when the Berlin wall was still up, there was a story about a guy on the East side who stole a plane and flew his family over the wall to freedom in the West. He had no previous flying experience but he did it all perfectly. It was something none of the communist guards expected and so he got away with it. Later in an interview with his wife, she said he'd been practicing with remote controlled airplanes for a long time. So he knew what the plane would do and what controls he needed to adjust to keep the plane in the air.
All those hours playing War Thunder finally paid back.
