This is happening to chronic pain patients as well but nobody is talking about that 🙄🙄🙄. But hey….ADHD is more debilitating than chronic pain right? We are never talked about. It’s actually the government controlling the quantity of certain medications that can be distributed. The 3 lettered agencies need to go like CDC and DEA.
What the FDA is failing to tell everyone that the reasoning for this shortage is simply due to a opioid lawsuit filed in 2021 (Please look it up for your own reference). Adderall isn't labeled as a "opioid", but in the lawsuit it technically is. Thus, limited how much pharmacies can actually order per batch. For example, if a pharmacy can typically order 30k pills, now they're limited to about 5-7k. It sucks, truly, but the strict regulation should be lifted by the end of this year…
All the relevant information should be made public for transparency so we can see wherever there is any attempt at price manipulation.

I really don't care who's to blame at this point (for the shortage) I just need this nightmare to end. ADHD treatment is one thing, but the group of people being overlooked is narcoleptics. I can't survive without this medication. Survive as in stay awake for a full 8 hours, and not fall asleep at work. And if I'm being forced to ration my prescription, then I'm not able to drive to work. No work, and I can't afford to pay rent. It's a vicious cycle…

Look up "yerba mate." It's no substiute, but it can feel like a tenth of a regular dose. A tenth is better than 0. btw, not a doctor. this is nowhere near being real medical advice. I'm just some random dude on the Internets, but yerba has worked for me with getting focused.
Adderall is not addictive and shouldn't be controlled like it is today.

It was my understanding that there were some online services during the pandemic where you could take a survey and get diagnosed. This lead to a huge amount of need than before the pandemic and drug manufacturer could not keep up.

I don't think it's a common practice in other countries to give children amphetamines except for maybe boat hijacker pirates in Somalia. They also want to give Ozempic for kids to lose weight. And then SSRI anti depressants for mood.
I suppose if you want to "strech" your Adderall supply till the pharms sort the business end out.
