  1. In football we have BP and AP. Rest in peace King

  2. To the uninitiated American 'football' is just a bunch of dudes in their armor colliding with one another (if you ask people from outside the US). If you call that entertainment then you must also love WWE. Yes, American 'football' does have the whole tactic thing and each break is a moment to recollect and re-strategize their move. However, keep in mind that studies have proven over and over that an average football game only plays for only 13 minutes on average and the rest are basically stoppage time and ads. I know many people that hate that aspect of the NFL. Frankly, I find rugby and AFL (Australian football league) a lot more entertaining to watch since the game goes on.

Soccer (or real football) has the same tactics, divisions and everything else except it's always in fluidity and in motion. Yes, to the uninitiated (no offense but that sounds like you) it just seems like a bunch of adults passing the ball around on a 0-0 tie game. But there is a reason soccer is by far the most popular game on earth. People love playing it which translates to people love to watching it. They understand the tactics, difficulty and team play behind each movement and goal.

Also, soccer is not just a game that is played 11 vs 11 on the pitch. It can be played in any number of configurations and makes it far more versatile than football or baseball. (Basketball a close #2). If you want to see more action then, try to watch ‘futsal’ which is soccer played in an indoor court (they tend to be far more high scoring).

And of course, don’t forget the World Cup is by far the most watched sporting event on earth by far. It is truly global and I mean global unlike the Super Bowl or the World Series, which should probably drop the name World. It’s frankly silly. It’s like if Orange County and Los Angeles County got together on a tournament (name whatever sport) and the winner is the US National Champion. (Extrapolate that to the WS and see how dumb that is)

  3. He was a great ambassador for the sport. As a boy, I watched him on Wide World of Sports and that was my first time seeing the sport. RIP 🙏

  17. My college soccer coach used to be the head coach of the Miami Toros and would always tell us stories about coaching against Pele. About how he would warm up before games hours before anyone took the pitch, then do things during the match that you just can't defend against. It was inspiring to hear what he was like from a rival's point of view.
