The Carolina Reaper has been officially dethroned as the world’s hottest chilli pepper.
PuckerButt Pepper Company founder and pepper expert Ed Currie has spent the last ten years working on Pepper X, a chilli pepper that emits an “immediate and brutal heat,” according to reporting by the Associated Press.
Five of those years were spent proving Pepper X was a different plant with a different fruit and documenting its average heat over different plants and generations.

Worlds hottest just because it's been tested and ratified by the Guinness Book Of Records. Lots of insanely hot peppers, which are much hotter than the Reaper simply have never been tested. I'm sure getting them tested is rather expensive, which isn't an option for most non/small commercial growers.
It's also a mustard pod, which aren't usually as hot as chocolates or reds. Someone really has to test both these varieties of the Primotali.
I wish USA TODAY would cover more of the recent , election ballot stuffing video evidence, going on now in Connecticut. Absolutely Alarming, and hotter than a pepper X.

It’s really too bad that we don’t have more regular people doing this with other food plants. Some of our main staples became such in exactly that way.
