I learned about this case in psychology class during college. It left me traumatized for the last 12 years. Now that I learned his name I thought all is well but no I am feeling a lot worse because they refused to share more information about what happened to him. I have been heartbroken for the last few days now. I just want to read him a book and rock him on the rocking chair. 😢

On another program they stated the child was connected to a prominent family in the area.
I remember hearing about him as a kid. Always wondered as the years rolled by if they’d ever find out who he was, and so happy they did. Rest easy little Joseph.

Most likely a prominent family in the Philadelphia area,reason for the respect he may of been slow and fustrated the mom or mistakenly beating by another kid or kids..i think the parents are dead
Where were his parents!! They more than likely were the ones harming him. So sad how people can do this to their own children. 😞
It’s unbelievable. This child JOSEPH touched my heart with such empathy, it’s the sole case I wanted to go back in time to have answers to. I know Joe touched so many people. Finally, his siblings can know the truth. I pray they weren’t abused by the same person or people who did this to Joseph. I pray that they didn’t even know, that they were too young to know. If they did, though – I hope they can finally love him, mourn him and bury their own ghosts of any abuse they suffered. I hope Joseph’s siblings can heal. I only wish them love and healing support – as much as Joseph received only after it was too late. It’s not too late for them. ❤
Back then, wouldn't it have raised a few eyebrows as to why the kid was never declared missing? Unless the father or mother forced the other to shut up…

I looked up the family on ancestry and it looks like the dad died in 2014. If it’s the same family, they lost 2 infants after Joseph. I could be wrong.
