Phillips is a match winner and a great keeper. He also plays spin very well.
Haha damn, says the man who didn't give a single opportunity to Phillips in 14 matches last season. And he hasn't kept wickets for any side in the last 1-2 years due to his back issue so I don't know how Moody thinks Klaasen is just another player like him. Klaasen is a specialist wicket keeper batsmen who's coming to the IPL on the back of a stunning SA20 season and a good run with South Africa recently. Also plays spin well in India. Phillips meanwhile struggled to play spin in the recent Ind vs NZ T20 series in India. Klaasen walks into this 11 but Phillips is still a very very good option and an absolute gun player to have in the squad.
Tom Moody had given us the most memorable 2016 season and also the unexpectedly amazing 2018 season but never filled the holes in the middle order nor bothered to buy specialist finishers. In just 2 years, lost all our beloved overseas players in Warner, Kane, Rashid and Bairstow. I am glad he is no longer associated with SRH, his thinking is a little obsolete at this point.
