Yall worried about him on his phone, whole time it could have been a visually impaired person. Whenever an escalator or moving walkways plate is missing more than one tooth consecutively or the whole plate is missing, the entire machine is shut down to prevent problems like this. Had a camera focused exactly on the missing plate, so I'm surprised the airport wasn't included in the lawsuit for not informing their security or whoever watching the cameras to pay attention for at least missing plates.

I NEVER use moving walkways or escalators ANYWHERE. They are accidents waiting to happen.

Whiny people. The man is clearly walking with his eyes glued to his cellphone, not watching where he's going. Now he expects somebody to give him money..
Whats amazing is that so many people actually navigated that thing successuly and of all people, a pilot, who is supposed to be alert, coveniently gets “stuck” on that thing.

He was looking at his phone when he fell and NOT paying attention to where he was going and when to step off. His lawsuit against TKE is completely bogus and totally his negligence of paying attention to what he was doing.
And now because he wasn't paying attention. The court system will be subjected to yet another frivolous lawsuit.
They said he couldn't walk for about 2 weeks, yet in the video, he gets up and walks around with no limp. This is a man who is a pilot who is on these moving tramways all the time, so it's not the walkways fault. It's his fault for not paying attention to what he's doing.

If you have never ever looked down at your phone and walked at the same time, then go ahead and judge the pilot. What was that? Everyone has. That’s what I thought.

The lawsuit is definitely warranted. It could cause much worse injury than what the pilot suffered. You can see indeed missing a section of the cover plate. Have it been a child the injury would had been fatal. He was lucky the injury is not much worse.
I thought this was just common sense that your foot can get stuck in an escalator/"moving walkway" if you're not careful…
He has very serious "bone contusions" don't you know. Half a mil pending no doubt… When I was a kid I got a lollipop and sent on my way. Judging from his girth I would suggest he walks in future.
Hope he’s not looking at his phone when he’s flying. Complacency is one of the biggest hazards for anyone operating anything. They assume everything will go according to plan and aren’t thinking of the task diligently and make mistakes
When i was a kid i got my shoe stuck in the escalator on the side and broke it for months. thankfully i rarely tied me shoes well so i was able to slip it out right before it hit the top.
