A podcast host was allegedly fatally shot by a man who found her content online and traveled across the country to her Seattle area home to murder her and her husband. NBC’s Valerie Castro reports on how newly released details show that the couple filed a protection order just days before their deaths.

My boyfriends ex-girlfriend has been stalking me for 3 years now. I didn’t think of it much until she started showing up at my boyfriends grandmas house and my boyfriends cousin started to harass me online when I hadn’t even met her yet. Turns out show even moved with my abusive ex to another city assuming she probably thought I would get jealous or hurt. And most recently, she has gotten another girl struggling with drugs to stalk and threaten my life telling me I deserve to die.
What does the police and this type of order do then? Sounds like excuses and more excuses for letting these poor ppl die. Make no mistake, this is on the police and the system.
She wanted to be online and her husband liked it and allowed it so this was the outcome… sad but it happens
While I'm not a fan of guns if it came down to the stalker or myself and my husband we would not go down without a battle.
I have a stalker and he won't stop , even after getting restraining orders and calling the cops. He gets taken to jail and after a week in jail he comes back. It took the cops 4 hours to show up.last time! They are very scary and I finally had to get my own protection and I will use if I have to. The law does nothing to protect us victims.
Identify a clear and present danger…then put your life in the hands of police and or a local jurisdiction…and as we've seen in numerous events…often a fatal mistake.
How did he know where she lived?! People need to stop posting their personal business out in the public. Its so dangerous nowadays and not a smart thing to do. He was able to find her easily for some reason and its likely due to the things she may have posted online about herself and life. So tragic.
HEAR ME OUT, I am not a US citizen, I am from Eastern Europe. I have many friends in US, sometimes I send them gifts through US postal services, what is crazy to me is how many info you can find about US citizens on a simple google search, like where they lived and live, phone numbers, all the numbers they had and have, also who they are related to and their personal info as well. How is this legal? how is this happening? Because they not actively put this info out. All the countries that are part of EU have a very strict law called GDPR ( General Data Protection Regulation ) that protects all of your personal info and is not allowed to share it with absolutely no one. That is one. Second, my country will put in place a law that will make all aggressor wear an electronic bracelet that shows the live location that can't be removed . Basically ONCE you have a restraining order against the aggressor if he is closer to your location than he is supposed to be, the police near you gets notified immediately and you alarmed by them as well. If he does that 2 times the aggressor gets jail time.
Save what they did SAVE EVERYTHING ALL THE STALKING DOCUMENTED AND REPORTED and no police did anything

I feel so sad for this young wife and husband..Truly heartbreaking. I hope they get their say in the after life seeing that the monster that killed them is there too! Also The new Stalker law they where talking about is a truly needed one!
Our society can’t even deal with psychopathic stalkers. It’s always “we can’t do anything unless they attack you.” Real nice approach there, that always works out. For the stalker

The Cops failed, they would rather stop someone going 5mph or a broken taillight than bring people to justice. They don't solve crimes. they are so fking lazy! FK THEM! Defund the cops!
any time an order or protection happens with a proven threat- the person should be locked away for life… if not- this is how it ends
