This officer must have been a farmer. Livestock reaction to fire is different than us humans. They’ll run back to the barn because their instincts tell them it’s a safe place from the strange phenomenon of heat and smoke they understand as a danger. When I was a kid a pig farm behind us about a mile away went up in flames during the night. It was terrifying, the flames went up about 150 ft. My Dad woke up and drove over to see if he could help, but the fire crew was there and the place burned to the ground anyway. About a week later us kids hiked through the fields to check it out. We were mortified when we stumbled upon a field behind where the barn used to be of half burned dead pigs. We ran home screaming. We found out that in their terror and fear they ran straight back into the burning barn to their deaths. 😢😮
