Authorities said that the suspect who opened fire at a Tulsa hospital Wednesday that killed Dr. Preston Phillips and three others was a former patient of the doctor.

This act was heinous I am not excusing it. But that's still not a surgery they should have just gave him painkillers. That should not have been an issue I'm sure they gave other patients painkillers that soon out of surgery. Then maybe weeks later they wean them down or shut them off but that soon out of surgery he should got what he wanted for his spine pain
The only way that this country will be safe from gun violence if it happens to one of the republican family member then I bet it will change their mind about gun safety
The fact that people are seeing the shooter as a monster or an evil person has completely made me lose my faith in humanity. Granted I am not justifying his actions, but I understand why he did what he did. I have seen people I love suffer from indescribable agony and I have seen doctors laugh at their pain or yell at them and accuse them of being drug seekers. Most of you have no idea what it is like seeing someone you love in so much agony and contemplating suicide. I don't care how you look at, the way doctors treat chronic pain patients is pure evil.
Actually I'm glad I paid attention to these responses, because that just further proves that we humans are no more evolved than we were when we had African Americans as slaves. As Mark Twain put it "humans can't logically tell right from wrong". I thought he was overreacting, but he was spot on.
The suicide rate amoung people that suffer from chronic pain is sky high and doctors or society for that matter couldn't care less and I am afraid that my loved ones are going to commit suicide at anytime because they are in so much pain. Not that society cares.
How do gun nuts not see the problem that these killers not only did NOT have mental illnesses, but also acquired their guns legally? Why keep blaming mental illness? Every country in the world has people with mental illnesses. Why is it only in America that mass shootings keep occurring? Could it be that unlike other countries, guns are extremely poorly controlled and regulated in America?

My heart goes out to all the victims familys. I think this man was out if his mind in pain. I know that with this new war on opioid drugs Doctors are limited in after care pain management. It is no excuse to kill anyone but I do know of others who have taken their own lives do to not being able to get treatment for pain in the last few years. This man probably blamed the Doctor not understanding the new laws that Doctors have in place.
