I worked in downtown and was working at a sporting goods store company on 4th and Market. For those who have been in the city for a long time knows which store I’m talking about. I was working the day of the Rodney King riot. I’ve seen this city at its worst and that is now. London Breed continues to stick her head in the sand and say things aren’t as bad as it seems. She needs to spend a week walking around the city. Go visit the CVS on Haight that has to lock up soda. Go visit walk around downtown and see how empty it is. Go to the wharf and see how empty that is. I’ve also worked at Pier 39 and on weekends, it was chaos. Shoulder to shoulder of people and tourists. I drove by the other day and it was sad. She should go to parts of the city where it’s a hotspot for car break ins like Palace of Fine arts. Instead, she uses APEC as a visual band aid.
