My mother allowed a wildcat construction laborer to talk her into replacing her house heater with an Englander fireplace . . . WITHOUT AN OUTLET! The old unit was ripped out and the roof exhaust sealed off. I'm assuming she "allowed". I asked her about it and she wouldn't answer. It's entirely possible that she was part & parcel to letting me tend the house for her so that the pilot light could be put out and a thermostat would kick in the natural gas fired fireplace (Englander). They may have intended to do me great harm. There were Mexicans that would put air rifle pellets through windows (I saw them). There were many, many pets mysteriously, suddenly dead. There was an insurance policy placed on me. There was School Street. There was Versailles. There have been many, many things. A house full of fumes and empty hearts and a happy Cochise County.
