Taiwan is a part of China because China has 2 parts due to civil war, Taiwan of China and mainland of China. Currently both 2 parts have their own administrations but UN and almost all countries admit mainland China as the country China. Sooner or later both parts will be united because separation caused by civil war should not last long.

Don't fool people about congressional leader went to Taiwan in the past. Check the history, they are in different political party. This time, she is from the same political party, democrat!! When someone give you the red line, you go for it. You are taking your own risk!! Actually, hurting the whole world for her decision. If China governor go to Texas and supporting them to be independent. Is that o.k. for U.S.?? Russia gave Nato the red line, no one care! and this time is China. 1.Taiwan is never a country, but a province of China. The current situation of the Taiwan strait was historical consequences of Chinese Civil War. Most countries in the world, including the US, do not recognize Taiwan's independence.
2.The official name of Taiwan is Republic of China. The relationship between the Republic of China (Chinese Taiwan) and People's Republic of China (Mainland China) is just like the Confederate States of America and the United States of America during the American Civil War. Taiwan being a part of China is also included in Taiwan's so called “Constitution of the Republic of China”.
