If your logic is that a pregnant woman are two people, then it's only fair to say that pregnant women should pay double on airplanes, trains, buses, zoos, theme parks, movie theaters, and everything in between because they are two people.
I think this is unfair for all pregnant women and this debate started with one selfish woman trying to get out of a traffic ticket because she got caught.
Later on, if the same woman got caught parking in the handicap section and used her pregnancy as her disability, would you still be on her side?
Women could collectively take this route and it would be an effective form of protest. Kind of like 'freedom truckers' except 'freedom laners'. If you're not pregnant and the cops tell you you don't look pregnant tell them to prove that you are not. What are they going to do, force pregnancy tests? Probably. It is Texas after all.
Things would be easier if they just left abortion legal and people saw things for what they actually are. This supreme court overturn is trickling down to laws completed unrelated. All this mental gymnastics over a fetus’ rights is a waste of time.
Definition of person: a human being regarded as an individual.
A fetus (as well as a zygote, a blastocyst, or an embryo) isn’t an individual because it relies on a the body of a woman for complete survival, at least until 22ish weeks. Most abortions are done within the first-trimester, therefore not killing anything viable.
The sole fact that a fetus isn’t a person is why abortion is possible! It’s not an individual. If it was an individual, it could survive as it’s own body after the abortion, but it can’t. At least it could be donated to scientific technology, to help the humans that are actually people 😂
I sort of get what’s she’s doing, but this could be dangerous if she wins her case for women’s rights.

HOV lanes were designed to reduce emissions. Putting two drivers into one vehicle instead of two in order to reduce air pollution.
No they shouldn't be counted as passengers cause they're not here yet!!!! Plus it isn't fair to the other women who aren't pregnant! She should be embarrassed trying to take advantage of the system!!! Lady wait till your baby is born and than he can count as a passenger!

I would say that a fetus is not a passenger because it is not subject to any seatbelt requirement. Only the fetus's mother is. But that's just my opinion.
Being pregnant should not be an excuse to loophole laws. What I see is a Karen saying "do you know who I am. I demand special treatment".
The cops should have ticketed the unborn child for being in moving vehicle (drivers seat) without a drivers license…but let me guess pro life zealots will argue the fetus cant be ticketed because its NOT born yet. 😂

I'm often reminded about a fish that has an abortion in times like this I think to myself should fish have abortion? Who am I to say the rights for fishes. This is stupid. She should pay the ticket and STFU. Here's why: the HOV lane is to encourage carpooling; to reduce emissions on the basis that a person would not be driving a whole other vehicle by sharing with someone.
The fetus, baby, person, cell cluster, whatever you wanna call it… could not possibly take another car w/out the mom, without a cartoonlike feat of surgery and driving precision and I guess an umbilical extension cord, so she should just pay the ticket and be thankful she doesn't get more. 🤦🏻♂
Next thing you know, she's not going to want to buy an extra ticket at the movie theater for the fetus/baby/write-off, whatever they're called now.

Awww cmon, I wouldn't give her a ticket even if I disagreed with her (plus, a pregnant woman should be able to use that lane….bathroom issues, labor, and baby) but it's ok.

And any other places that require a separate fare or admission you better be ready to pay for that too. Can't have it both ways. If it's a separate person it has to apply to everything!

Babies count as a human passenger no matter what the age. They are a passenger in a different seat. Pets don't count either. Change the law first before you break it. Right now unborn babies are considered people but not passengers taking up a separate seat in a motor vehicle. Pay the fine and fight to change the law. Until then keep your yap shut.

This should not be allowed as an excuse to use the HOV lane. If we don't recognize an unborn child on the US Census then they are not yet a citizen. Therefore, they cannot be considered a "passenger".
