Two doses of psilocybin pills, along with psychotherapy, helped people with alcohol use disorder reduce drinking for at least eight months after their first treatments, results from the largest clinical trial of its kind show. The theory is that psilocybin makes the brain more malleable. NBC News’ Harry Smith spoke with a few people who participated in the study about their experience.

the great thing is that psychadelics themselves are non addictive. Now, does that mean it's impossible for someone to become addicted? No. Anything has the potential for addiction. But the overwhelming and vast majority of people don't feel the need to abuse psychedelics as they just do not have the same kind of recreational value that addictive drugs have. Sometimes psychs can result in very difficult experiences that you can learn a lot from but wouldn't want to experience again. Because difficult experiences are a possibility you have to keep a certain awareness and respect and understanding that just isn't required at all with highly addictive substances.

Idk. I tried mushrooms and it only helped while I was high. Maybe other people are different or maybe another type of mushroom would be different.
I had better results from ibogaine. And while it does help, you will still have cravings. It's a crappy trip so there's really no addiction potential. Definitely need a sitter for this one. The most notable use is for heroine but that's not the only use. I used it for nicotine.
