The G.O.Party of fascism is in my opinion, the worst spread of mental health decline in America's history.
Thank you for shining a light on this very important issue. We need more funding.
Well, there needs to be more mental health workers – properly trained and equipped with appropiate staff. An emergency room isn't staffed to deal with the mentally ill so well, except with the extremely violent patients and usually by restraint followed by psychiatric hospitalization. Immediate because, when things go wrong usually the situation rapidly deteriorates. Take it from me "Dr. Betty", I've got plenty of Thorazine you're welcome to.
This is why I'm just saying to myselfs you can get thru this but I don't know how much longer it will work
Health Insurance among other problems is another issue contributing to this problem. So sad, my heart goes out to anyone facing these challenges.
Local for profit healthcare system decided to get out of the mental health business. In doing so, they planned to close the only local crisis center, multiple rehab offices, the biggest counseling center in the area, the local mental hospital and more. Fortunately, another company bought most of it but because of policy changes, i lost my longtime counselor and psychiatrist
My friend in Michigan was put on a WAIT list to see a psychiatrist for 6 MONTHS! YES, 6 MONTHS! I live in Massachusetts and State law here is you HAVE to be seen within 2 weeks! I had a therapist and a psychiatrist within a MONTH when I moved here in 2010!

Was he on SSRIs? That GAIN OF FUNCTION drug is reacting badly with people. Their going nuts. We have TONS of extra therapists here. The first Masters Program in the University here was in Psychiatry.
