So let me see if I have this right. Trump is being charged with trying to get around Federal laws. And now there is a push by Democrats to get around federal laws. No one is above the law, not even Democrats. If Trump has to follow the law, so should the democrats. There should be no "exceptions". Otherwise, drop the charges and let's all ignore Federal laws.

Therefore, under federal and Washington DC laws the trial must be televised.
