Loved this video Josie. My husband and I got engaged after 6 years together and then married after 12 years. There us definitely no rush when getting married. We are 22 years together in total now and I wouldn’t change a thing. Loved your honesty in this video and your great advice at the end about comparison and staying true to yourself, sticking in your own lane. So helpful. Thanks Josie.💞💞

Josie, do what makes your heart happy. My hubby and I had ours in our yard as well. We rented everything from tents and furniture and linens and hired entertainment and it came out spectacular. Your garden is stunning and a perfect place for you guys! I think people would actually rent your yard as a venue! That’s how beautiful it is! You will be a gorgeous bride by the way! As an American, I have not heard the term “marquee company” and was wondering what that is and what they do in relation to your wedding?
You mentioned that you wanted the green house for your yard and was curious if you changed your mind about a destination wedding which you previously mentioned when you first got engaged to now? Does that mean you will use your fabulous yard for your wedding which is beyond beautiful, big and special enough for the perfect wedding? The possibilities are endless for design ideas because your yard is huge. You grew lovely peonies and I thought hydrangea last summer which are perfect wedding flowers too. I am surprised that you and Charlie haven’t rented your backyard out for weddings or rented your property to movie companies as a location property. Many homes, big and small get rented in Los Angeles, especially in the not so nice neighborhoods. My physical therapist had some of his backyard shown in the movie “dog,” no interiors, and was paid over $40000.00 for 7days tax free. They didn’t get to keep the patio furniture though. The movie company paid for the hotel, two separate hotel rooms plus food and parking. The contract was up to 14 days which was what they were hoping for. If any part of a home is shown, wall, tree, roof, etc., movie/tv company must pay the owner. Fortunately, my PT was signed up with a location company. The movie company pays for insurance as well in case of any damage which there was none.

personally wouldn't have a long engagement unless looking to get married within a reasonable time. Otherwise you can just living together and building a life without being engaged. And won't receive questions about the wedding and build up expectation for yourselves and your guests who may have waited years but not on your final invite list.

I haven't watched the whole video but just needed to comment 🥰 I love that you will be having your wedding in your own garden and home! It makes it so special 😁 Myself and my fiance have been engaged for 6 years and together for 8!! We are getting married at the end of June 😊 I only started planning our wedding in august of last year 😂 I feel that there can be so much pressure to have a short engagement…but we wanted to put our money in to our home and like you! We have a house and a dog together 😂 Getting married is our next step and feels so natural for us! I wish you all the best with wedding planning Josie! I thought i would be stressed but have really enjoyed it so far and i'm sure you will too! 😁💕
I apologise in advance for this rant! I got engaged last October and we plan on getting married next year. We want to keep it really inexpensive and my parents own and run a gorgeous 16th century B&B, I always thought I'd have my wedding in the garden but they've been trying to sell it for a few years (as they're getting older) but with no success, only for this year someone has finally put in an offer. It's not all final yet but my parents are saying it looks like this will be the final year at the house! My mum and all my aunties on her side had home, makeshift weddings and I always wanted the same and I'm quite sad that it might not happen now, I can't believe how expensive weddings venues are! We're only having about 30 guests, it just seems insane to spend thousands upon thousands on a venue for one day. You're so incredibly lucky to be able to have your wedding in your gorgeous garden, it will be spectacular! x
Ooh, I think my engagement has been quite a long one. We have been engaged for 31 years and have just never got around to the wedding bit. Also, we don’t believe in rushing into things 🤣😝

U need to read the 5 AM Club , it pretty much says that other than the benefits of solitude in the morning which you mentioned, our brain chemistry is different early in the morning . The brain’s prefrontal cortex, which is the part that makes you worry, stress, or over analyze things , is temporarily shut down in the early hours of the morning. On the other hand, you can notice an increase in dopamine and serotonin levels which helps you feel energized and at peace.
Totally get what you’re saying about a long engagement but just to speak for the other side. We had a 7 month engagement and I loved it because it meant I couldn’t overthink every detail which I definitely would have done otherwise 😂 also I got a good bit of advice about how as soon as you get engaged you’re “ready” to be married and being in a kind of limbo can be a bit draining. But each couple to their own! X

Although we rushed and got married and have been married seems like our entire life, 47 years. I think it is everyone's personal choice, when they decide to get married. When you get married, the vows should not be taken lightly, and when you marry it is for life. Some people don't seem to take the vows that serious. Do you, and have the wedding you want. You only get married once. Garden weddings are so magical.
I've been engaged for 8 years 🤣🤣 we've been together for 17 years. We decided that investing in a family and buying a house was more important to us.
Yes to all the wedding content Josie, any or everything you want to share. I was engaged for 4 years because the timing of when and where we wanted to get married did not sync up well, it is all fine as long as you are happy with what your plans are.
I have been with my fiancé for 14 years this May, engaged for 5, 6 years…. I’ve forgotten how long. I’m in no rush to get married. By law, we are technically married.
