I'm A Union worker diesel mechanic on locomotive engines for a class 1 yellow train company I won't say the name. It amazes me how many people think it's Bidens fault, we been without a contract for 4 years under Trumps cabinet we couldn't even get to the PEB board under him and i voted for Trump. He didn't help Unions at all. Under Biden we were able to get the PEB board he recommended and under the democrats we have a tentative agreement from the PEB board. 24% raise, capped insurance, 5 personal unpaid sick days, 1 personal extra day which now makes 3 and a $1000 dollar bonus every 1st of Dec. The best contract my whole 18 years. We had no sick days couldn't miss more than 5 days a year or you get put in maps where you can lose your job if you miss again only 3 weeks vacation at 8 years 4 weeks at 17 years and 5 weeks at 25 years which hasn't changed but I can deal with that and no bonuses no capped insurance. The best thing about the railroad is the retirement i can retire at 60 and thats why most of us stay we pay into our own retirement we don't pay SSI thankfully i feel sorry for my Americans that pay into SSI but i also pay into railroad retirement 3x more than people who pay SSI. Biden was the most Unionized President for Unions he helped us out so much. More than I thought he would more than what Trump did. I'm thankful for my job but I'm also thankful we were recognized for what we bring to our country we keep these things moving and bring billions into our economy and bring billions to shareholders who are to greedy to share a little bit of what we make for them.

After many years of 24/7 call for work, I fell asleep driving to work for a train that went on duty at 1:15 AM. Luckily I didn't hurt anyone else, and only lost the vehicle. When they towed my car, the police asked me if I wanted a ride somewhere. I figured, might as well go to work, now I'm going to need the money even more.
Trust me, the 24/7 call issue is dangerous. Your body's sleep rhythms are not designed to change from night to day and back again, literally from one day the next. Your mind starts dealing with the lack of quality sleep by being in an almost "walking sleep" mode, and that is no way to be operating high speed heavy machinery.
Why is the media so on the side of the big companies
