how will the rail strikes (both in the US and the UK) affect arming Ukraine?
What is this clown talking about 1600 in pay increase. I work for u.p and this is such garbage we are so behind in pay even before covid 24% still has us behind. A u.p.s driver can make more than me by the time the 24% kicks in and we still have no sick pay at all why wont he speek about that. They cut our manpower to increase profits and they would have to hire more people to keep up if people actually use their sike days off. And i bet you want the government you help line there pockets do your biding. Suport workers not These por billionaire companies. Also can this so called journals stop brown nosing this guy its sad how much money do you think the railroad payed him lol
if congress tries to force anything, goodbye railroad industry. Goodbye supply chain. Most that voted “yes” just want the backpay to quit. Already have new careers lined up. They’re begging old guys that was eligible to retire to stay on, paying $10,000 to not retire because they cant hire or retain. The only thing keeping supply chain going is the ongoing battle and the wait for backpay checks in order to resign. If the current TA or anything similar is passed or forced without abusive attendance policies being nullified, this supply chain is nuked.
Congress cant fix it. Writing is on the wall. And only corporate greed is to blame.
They can still be fired for more than just a few sicknesses or family emergencies in a year, any time they are not available 24/7/365 is counted towards firing. But allowing ANY time off is apparently too expensive for an industry that pays tens of billions a year JUST in stock buy backs alone.
In America, you can order people back to work, and force a workforce in a certain industry to take a contract. You cannot however force employees to stay employed there or remain members. When it’s enough, its enough. And this is 50+ years in the making, exponentially increasing workforce abuse unchecked, no salary increase or pension is worth never seeing your family again and being on call 168 hours per week and never knowing any given day if you’ll get to sleep or where you will end up, let alone know when. The job is a cage. Even more claustrophobic and impossible than ever with abusive attendance policies. Those that resign describe it like being released from a 30 year sentence.
Well then. Sounds like you should pay your workers and stop being greedy little piggies.
Yet another catastrophe brought too you by Fjb! 28% pay raise? How deep IS the greed?
Railroads need to at least give their employee unpaid time off.
Solidarity with striking workers!
Strike Strike Strike!
Way to go. Don't bend over for them suits
YES
It tougher than these two guys talking, but I bet they make a whole lot more to talk on tv and not provide anything for this country.
Rail workers want sick days and I don't know why the companies can't come across with that.
To many chiefs not enough Indians open ur eyes people 👀👀it’s everywhere nowadays everybody wants to be the chief get payed big money to do nothing
so glad officials are willing to state publicly that the unions hold all the cards in this scenario, what with admitting a strike could potentially cripple the nation
Yeah….and the Republicans will blame the crippling economy the railroad strike will be responsible for, on the Biden Administration.
Hey Fox News….how about trump’s tax records?!
I was working in transportation for a major railroad in 1982, when the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers struck.
Two days later, Ronnie “Raygun” Reagan ordered us back to work or face what he’d just done to Air Traffic Controllers. To HELL with anyone who opposes labor!!
They should fire every last one of them. What they're doing is no less than holding the countries supply train hostage, for financial gain. It affects every single person in this country in a negative way. So, at a minimum they should all be fired.
I'm sure we will be giving them billions to appease them or to rail the funds back to the government
That’s 24% over 5years get it right
Shut it down. And put more trucks on the ground. Privileged turds
You ain’t seen nothing yet. Biden is only getting started.
I can’t believe this country voted for a Chinese president!
I must back the Union. We stand Union strong.
This report is crap. The “other things” he is not mentioning is that the rail workers are only allowed to take 1 day a month off. That’s all they get for family time or any appointments. Who the hell would work that often and sleep in hotels that much??? Nobody, that’s who. I hope they strike and get support. If congress tries to intervene then what type of freedom are we looking at? Keep voting this way for these people and you will see just how much we have regressed from what our founding fathers wrote
There’s the Railroad Act that prevents the workers from going on strike… They can be fired just like the control tower workers that Ronald Reagan Fired for refusing to work… There are a lot of different types of jobs that are not able to strike because of the Railroad Act which is all types of commerce…
Where’s Pete?
On Stephen Colbert’s show again???
That seems like the ultimate plan, to cripple the united States.why would biden let millions of illegals into the u.s during a pandemic, stop oil companies from drilling. Arm are enemies in Afghanistan and on & on.
Oh no the retailer’s guess the consumer gets some protection
No problem here nothing a printing press with unlimited dollar’s can’t fix
Why shouldn't the workers strike? Do any of you actually know what the conditions are? I assure you, you wouldn't take a job with the conditions they have.
They had only agreed to delay it. How did the news media protray it to the public.
Boohoo I want more money I want better benefits… Not like you have one of the best jobs in the country already, quit it!
The railroad’s want robots. No time off.
See if Beautyjudge can add some American jobs, or is he gonna be a company man ?
Most beginners believe that investing in crypto is all about holding till it rises, with the recent crash in the market and recession. We should know that long term price predictions are very difficult to achieve. It’s better to trade short term and make profit.
Shut it Down. Feel the Pain.
