There's enough oil underground in the US to last 200-250 years at our current consumption rate. If they want to gradually decrease our current rate of 18-20 million barrels a day, then good. I think that's great for future generations. However, to do it by causing the low to middle class so much pain is unconscionable. Small steps is how they should be doing it.
