In my opinion, we have to do more than reduce our economic dependency on China, we also have to literally wake up to the changing strategic alliances going on in the world in opposition to American interests. That is assuming, the powers that be in this country, have their interests aligned with the best interests of the American people and are really incentivized to do something. Otherwise, we better learn to speak Chinese or Russian.

Like, how do you get a consumer nation of 330 million people that are hooked on low prices to accept the necessity of doing this? And, more importantly, how are you going to deal with the corporations who moved so much U.S. production to China to get on board. Those corporations are more accustomed to sending orders to their paid legislators in DC than being ordered by legislators to do something for the country.
