There is a difference between aging and looking old
if one day this science bear fruit and is accessible, the earth population will be unsustainable. It will reformat society, you won't be allowed to have children unless someone in your close family dies. Of course, the more money you got, the more children you can have because you will be able to buy "licenses" to have children from someone who's willing to sell you one. This technology is really not good for humanity as a whole. We must all die to breed new people, new geniuses, unfortunately new sociopaths and refresh the pool and minds of new generations. That is unless we go extinct because of climate change or nuclear winters.

We were on the brink of life expansion way back in the early 90s too. I remember seeing exhibits about sleeping in oxygen, cryogenic chambers, dna cloning, it was before smart phones and so very modern. Felt like I was living in the future.
