  1. Lack of coordination and resources isn't the same as conspiracy. It isn't easy to do everything perfect in an unexpected tragedy, with chaos and miscommunication, hampered by power failures, etc. Easy to point fingers. Besides, some of those residents in the fires were probably friends or relatives of the public officials who supposedly 'conspired' against them. That makes no sense.

  2. Tourism won't change the past, but it can help the Island financially. They need to recover financially, and not only spiritually. As long as it's not Lahaina, I don't see the problem with reopening. Then use the revenues to rebuild.

  3. People need money to get back on their feet. The only industry in Maui is Tourism. They can do both. The money raised by Tourism will help Maui get the funds they need to help the people rebuild their homes and their lives. The protestors are still in denial. They have to accept what has happened and move on.

  7. the only "protesters" are the ones who don't depend on tourism…

  8. That's how politicians are! Let's forget the LAHAINA-MAUI fires & all the victims forgotten!! Shame on politicians & Elites forgetting about LAHAINA-MAUI locals & folks where are the monies for lives lost, homes lost, everything lost by LAHAINA-MAUI residents & impact fires did to residents & how Bezo, Oprah & other Hollywood elites & corporations buying land up!

  9. Why isnโ€™t the governor a native Hawaiian not some YT guy That alone is none sense!!

  10. There will always be something "fishy" about those Maui fires and all the videos on residential phones with local law enforcement telling them to TURN AROUND back into the smoke and being told to stop giving residents food, water, and shelter.

  11. As a tourist Iโ€™m not going to visit Hawaii.

  12. i forgot about Hawaii sense the Israel thing started, it's by design

  13. I would say need more demand for repair costs until expectations are met or you're making tourism look bad on both sides.

  14. Doesnโ€™t tourism create income to help repair the damage?

  15. Hawaii, I hope you're not going to vote Democrat again; that would be ignorant!

  16. OMW now to get drunk and throw my trash all over the place not joking

  17. They say now is too soon, so when exactly should it be reopened for tourists to come back?
