I can afford to eat at restaurants anymore. Prices already going up over years, but now, too much with everything else. Eating out has to go first with inflation.

California has always hated it's businesses outside of Hollywood and Silicon Valley. Especially restaurants. They'll really have to become farm owners to stay in business. Or even form co-op alliances with private growers and ranchers. I'm sure most restaurant owners would pay a little more for stable suppliers.

I make a mean hamburger I do great fries no way and hell am I going to give you $23 for a little about an ounce of coke with the rest of ice and I know that's where these restaurants make a lot of their money is off of beverages cuz I was a bartender for 13 years I get that I know how it's done I know how they knocked down but there's going to be a lot of changes., And like I said a lot of people will be going out of business sad but true.
Since oh Baden has con and scammed us , and all the wonderful doctors of the world that is kindness as well, so so many restaurants had to close will never reopen because of their behavior all the money they made from it and as many restaurants that will soon yet to be closed just because of this I know that I will never go to the waffle House again I went to the waffle house and just for a scoop of grits that was going to charge me $5 and I didn't know that until after I had already ordered my meal and she's told me yes the manager that yes they started charging $5 for a serving of grits and $5 for a serving of hash browns which that always went with the mealsand I'll tell the manager I said you're still in these girls tips they can't make any money and that little girl picks up on what I said so she took off the grits I told her I said you're a smart girl and I told that manager I said as long as I could spend my own dollar I'm 76 now and I think when I was about 18 19 they didn't have the waffle houses in Texas back then I'm originally from Georgia they have waffle houses everywhere now but I told her I said I will never as long as I live every step foot and another waffle House or will I eat any of your food. Do you know how much a $5 worth of grits would feed people do know how far it would go do you know how much $5 worth of potatoes would feed somebody have you ever put it to the test I have they can go to hell. I just thank God I know how to cook that's all I can say cuz I sure won't eat fast food I never have never will not it's poison.

5 dozen box of eggs 18 moths ago was $18.90 at Smart and Final. Yesterday same box $46,98. Only 3 times higher in California

I travel all over the western USA, and over the last 15 months, I've seen MUCH higher inflation on the things that I purchase than what the CPI suggests is the inflation rate. I think the CPI is a watered down political number that doesn't mean very much, whereas what people are spending out of their pockets means everything.
