I pray to God that this kid recovers. I'm a former deputy sheriff, so I definitely feel for him and his family. First week in FTO and this happens. Unreal. I'm sure his field training officer is destroyed. It's his job to show him how to be a cop and keep him safe at the same time. Regardless if there's zero mistakes, his guy is hurt and he's going to take it hard.
I wonder how the wounded officers feel about mentally ill people being able to legally purchase and own AR-15-style rifles with high-capacity magazines like the one they were shot with?

Nobody is talking about if perhaps the shooter was being discriminated, bullied, harrased or mistreated in the workplace? Not saying if this is the case its ok what he did, absolutely not. But this could be a possible motive. And of course authorities wont say this to the public.
