WE need to cut China out of this loop, and produce our own batteries for the electric cars. We have the raw, natural resources and the brain to work on the project. It’s going to happen. I called my insurance company yesterday for a quote because I’m getting a model Y this month from the Austin Gigafactory and the person helping me said she had to do a few last minute model Y insurance claims because Tesla is requiring them to have full insurance coverage before picking up their cars today. So yeah, there will be deliveries of the new 4680 batteries today
Since Tesla can't sell vehicles directly to customers in Texas, I doubt that vehicle buyers will be presented to the customers. Unless Tesla is willing to deal with the backlash or have special provisions for this event.
