NATO should hold an "emergency meeting" to admit Ukraine into NATO. Then, the US should phone Putin to inform him of Ukraine's new status, and to remind Putin that our various nuclear weapons are "quite operational" and might be used if he invades Ukraine. He will back down because strength is the only thing bullys understand. Otherwise, invasion is almost certain.

I don't think any of those powerful countries will come and wholeheartedly support Ukraine. Business with Russia means more to them than protecting a small country. Sanctions here, sanctions there and will be lifted after few months.
