That is good that China and Russia are joining forces . Latest news include China are allowed to use Vadivostoc port. And there are talk of Chinese Navy ships stationing in the Russian port.
China is looking to take a chunk of Russia when it gets broken up. Nobody would trust any monetary system run by China or Russia as the politicians are all corrupt and bribed dictators and thieves. That's one of the reasons that their currency are loo paper now. Nobody would trust a totalitarian state's money system. China can't even make safe baby food. Russia can't even spend the military budget on the military. What would their financial slogan be? Invest with us and Putin and Xi will spend it on themselves to keep power. No thanks. In Brazil you simply bribe officials. South Africa can not keep the electric on, so their banking system would have to be two wheelbarrows and a donkey.

China is already de-facto annexing Russia at a really fast rate. All the Western companies which left Russia had their factories and facilities bought up by Chinese companies. Russia did almost no nationalization because Chinese firms offered incredible contracts to the Russian government.
In addition China is already talking with Central Asia behind Russia's back and has started to change the names of Russian cities in Siberia to Chinese. Poland did the same for Kaliningrad and Russia was outraged but they have said nothing to China for doing the same showing how little power Moscow has to stop Beijing.
China needs Russia's energy, and Russia needs China's civilian commodities. The trade between the two countries is just complementary. Congratulations to the increase in the trade volume between the two countries to help each other's economic growth.
It would be better than building the wall to fence Mexico.
