The war in Ukraine is unlike any war thatโs been. Although it seems local, this war is changing the world. In the end, after all the pain, the parties will establish new relationships, and new relationships will be established around the world. This war is the beginning of a formation of a new world order, where all parties unite against the one common enemy of all of humanity: egoism. It will take time, but everyone involved will realize, and the whole world with them, that they are not fighting against each other, but against an enemy within them. If we let the idea sink in, even a bit, it will make it happen even sooner.
The war that began in late February will not end soon. It will take many more months until everyone realizes that war itself, the very concept of it, is evil. In that sense, the war in eastern Europe is correcting all of humanity, transforming our perception and our understanding of good and evil.
The casualties, the injured, and the lost property are a terrible price to pay. Nevertheless, global processes always come at a cost. We should not blame others for the cost, and we should not think that there is nothing each of us can do to change the world. It is in the hands of every person to change the world for the better, and to make the atrocities of war, and all atrocities that humans are inflicting on each other, disappear. All we need is to realize that the only enemy lies within usโour self-centered attitude. It incites us against each other, demonizes and vilifies anyone who disagrees with us, tells us that we are the only ones entitled in this world, and thereby sets us off against each other. We are all like that, infected with a pandemic of narcissism.
Nevertheless, there is a lot we can do to change the world. First, we must accept that there is a good reason we are so different from each other. Each of us makes a unique contribution to the world that no one else can. If we were all the same, the contributions we receive from others, and on which our lives depend, would be absent, and we would not survive, in the most physical sense of the word.
We will realize that our ego is the enemy only when we realize that singularity is the wrong key word for happiness. Today, the key word for happiness is complementarityโmutual satisfaction of each otherโs material, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
We are living in a world where we are all dependent on each other. The food we eat, the clothes we wear, and the appliances and gadgets that we use are all made by people we do not know, in places we do not know, and reach us in ways we do not know. But were it not for this chain of myriad unknown individuals, we would not survive, since we cannot provide for our needs by ourselves.
The same goes for social ties. All our connections, communications, and interactions with other people are made possible with the help of countless people who serve us without our awareness. But were it not for them, we would not be able to work or socialize.
Despite this obvious fact, we behave toward others with as little consideration as possible, and when we are nice or considerate, it is because we have an ulterior, selfish motive. We do not have the prerogative to keep up this behavior. We are destroying the world and destroying ourselves.
Back in the 1930s, Baal HaSulam, a great thinker and a great kabbalist, wrote an epic essay titled โPeace in the World.โ In it, he writes, โMan is inherently born to lead a social life. Each and every individual in society is like a wheel that is linked to several other wheels placed in a machine.โ How odd it is that ninety years ago, before World War II, people already realized that we are all dependent on each other and must behave toward each other with consideration. Just think what we could have avoided had we been more attentive and open-minded.
Now, too, we are headed for a catastrophe unless we pay attention and begin to act like one entity, one global society that works like a single, united family. The war will change the world, but I hope we can change ourselves before the war changes us..

Luckily, one day the owner had nothing to do on the donkey. The owner let him to go to the pasture and enjoy his free time.
While the donkey was eating the grass, he found a lion's skin. First he got very terrified to see it but he saw that it was not a live lion. Then, The donkey put it on and heading toward the village.
When the villagers saw that a lion was coming in the village, everybody got scared and escaped to the high grounds.
When the donkey saw the situations, he got very happy. He thought that he will never ever be a donkey or work that much hard everyday anymore. The donkey was so excited and walking in the village freely. no one even had a courage to get back to the village. The villagers were sitting on the surrounding mountains and watched the big lion was walking in the village.
But, the donkey came up with an idea thought to make a lion sound to scare even more the villagers to make them leave the eniter area totally so the donkey can stay and live there without any human's existence abd disturbing.
So, the donkey begun sounding look like a lion. Suddenly, the villagers heard a donkey sound. Not a real lion sound. Immediately, they realized that it was not a real lion. They came back to the village and took off the lion's skin from the donkey and put him back to hard work like he did before. Unfortunately, the donkeys life became much more mezreabl then before.

The Russian army have gone through many generals and commanders with ultimate result which is failure as the Ukrainians are fighting a hit and run style defence and offence so they are hard to pin down. Putin is doubling down on the Ukrainian war by sending more equipment and solders all of which will end up the same way. With Belarus railway resistance fighters stalling the transport of equipment and with Ukrainians blowing up ammunition depots and equipment the situation is getting dire for Russias. This war cannot even be sustained for a year before Russia itself will fall into utter bankruptcy and chaos with the European sanctions, reducing consumption of gas and switching gas suppliers. All of which point to almost no money left in the bank to pay for this costly war on Ukraine with no real objective and no real monetary gain beside ruin.

The ramifications of this war run much deeper than the impact it will cause to those directly involved in the conflict. It will reshape the world, as it is likely that other latent frictions between countries and territories will be activated as a consequence of the Russia-Ukraine situation. This war just opened an era of wars, small and large, between different peoples.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently said that this war could easily become "the biggest war in Europe since 1945", and I agree. If countries with similar backgrounds cannot reach agreement between them, then how much more likely it is that several countries that have big differences and ancient conflicts may easily slip into war for no apparent justifiable reason.
On a personal level, it saddens me to see how fate turns around and once again we find ourselves at war. I am sorry and restless since I have many students in Russia and Ukraine who are under threat and feel how the deteriorating situation is affecting them and the whole world. In Israel, too, I have many students who follow with concern what is happening in Eastern Europe, anxious about the fate of their family members and friends.
My hope is that the manifestations of hatred between the Russians and the Ukrainians will stop soon, two peoples who have lived side by side throughout history. If it were still possible, I would give everything I could to silence, calm down, avoid the escalation, but this is impossible for now.
There is not much that we can do at this stage. We can only long for peace and a ceasefire, talk about all parties showing restraint. The parties in conflict could follow the example of the Native American tribes who buried their hostility in a ceremony during which previously warring tribes agreed to settle their differences and live in harmony, and sealed their agreement by the chief of each tribe burying a war hatchet in the ground.
Such a scenario does not look realistic under the current circumstances. Thus, above the forces of hostility, above the egoism and control as the driving forces of all the conflicts in the world, we can only raise a global prayer for peace, asking that we all get along with everyone. Because only in the power of connection and in the connection between our hearts, can a great positive force arise, a force that is able to unite all parties, to reconcile the haters, to awaken the truth in us all that we all belong to one soul. Politics and diplomacy are not about fibbing to get what you want, but about finding common ground, and that is impossible without mutual trust, and that applies to all relationships, especially in delicate matters of diplomacy.
It is well documented that NATO countries, through their highest political representatives at the time, repeatedly promised not to expand eastward. How can a country trust a military alliance that obviously disregards its own word? Would you trust someone who promises you something and later asks you to read the fine print, does Western diplomacy have the same standards as door-to-door salesmen? An example of better diplomacy was the Cuban missile crisis, which Kennedy and Khrushchev eventually resolved with words and mutual trust and without a treaty. If the West were trustworthy, Ukraine could have become a link between Russia and the West and been integrated by economic means, not by a military alliance on Russia's doorstep. Rogue Anglo-Saxon states and their vassals and dependent countries are trying to bend things in their favor. Russia has been a bystander most of the time. Given the goodwill of the former USSR in allowing the reunification of Germany and tolerating the entry of most other former Soviet states into NATO, it is all the more understandable that Putin intervened when NATO tried to integrate a country that has great cultural significance for Russia but is even more important from a military point of view. Compare this to the illegal war against Iraq, thousands of miles away, which resulted in the deaths of millions in the most brutal way (Abu Gurhaib), or Vietnam, also thousands of miles away, where Western nations tried to bomb the country into submission, and the list could go on. The neutral observer will take all of this into consideration. When one considers that Ukraine also harbors battalions that blatantly present themselves as Nazi fighters who declare that they want to wipe out everything Russian and have done so since the illegal coup in 2014 (with Western support), it becomes even clearer who is right and who is wrong. Russia is right not only from a strategic point of view, but also from a moral point of view. All Selensky had to do was make sure that his country did not join NATO and stop the attacks on the Donbass region, where 14,000 people (mostly Russians) died, and Russia most likely would not have intervened.
