Hey People….. The main purpose here all along is to make the Russian army retreat and leave Ukraine, yes? And so when they are finally doing that, yes we do rejoice but shall we not mock at the Russian army?
Because doing so might push them to feel more embarrassed and therefore try even harder to prove us wrong by attacking even more. And who suffers as a result to that? Ukrainians, yes? We need to make Putin and his army understand that it is Correct to retreat, not shameful.

Lyman isn't a strategic transport hub. There is nothing strategic about this town with population before the war of roughly 20 000. Russians took it only in May this year. For purely political reasons Zelenskyy wasted his last reserves on this venture trying to capture it by September 30 deadline. No Russian troops were encircled in and around the town.
