Nobody want to go to the car break-in / tax capital / high rent of the USA
The City is done. Housing is useless without jobs.
Crime and the homeless? Crickets…
remember the housing crisis during the last recession, they passed those same laws again, all of those small loans are made in the interest that the business cannot cover the loan and then the bank will foreclose, this is the way it is and we are all insane for letting it happen again.
Perfect opportunity to convert a percentage of these empty properties to affordable housing to bring people back into the city center of San Francisco.
Crime and drug destroyed the downtown. Breed must go!
Unless Mark is going to disclose his occupancy rate he should pipe down with the boasting. For all we know he’s sitting on a half-empty bldg.
Lol. Hope that city sinks into the bay. Modern day Sodom needs to be destroyed
Sanction bum fights! Build the hobo Colosseum!
If people stop going to SF to work, where do they live there?
Doom loop for whom? The ultra rich and landlords might be losing money, but let’s be honest, no one, absolutely no one cares about them. Good.
lol… black for mayor just another chicago.
Doom loop or a market correction because of laughably unacceptable prices?
People will make fun of San Fran but this is bound to happen is all overpriced markets. You cant raise the cost of living and keep pay suppressed. You cant count on only drawing in wealthy renters/ homeowners. Eventually those that cant afford to live/move will turn to crime to afford a means of survival and once it gets out of hand its KO. Greed did this to San Fran and the media will pretend its because of homeless people.
Having this discussion without talking about the huge homeless, drug, and crime problems is ridiculous.
I lived in SF for 9 years. Covid isn't what caused this, it just gave a bunch of people a reason to get out of a city that's grown more filthy, more expensive, and more dangerous.
Good job Democrats everything u touch turns to s _
California had Democratic Governors from 2011-2023… the video above are the results ✌
Just open resorts/casinos downtown. Give Las Vegas some competition. With the amount of Asians in the area, it’ll be a gold mine.
looks good to be occoupied by a lot of illegal aliens
What good is converting vacant office space to private residential units in SF when people don't want to live there anymore? SF will never thrive again until they fix the crime problem and extremely high rent costs.
society doesnt go bad because of few bad people but because capable people do nothing, california will descend into left wing fascism soon
Its an IN TENTS real-estate market
Bayview Is a rough neighborhood
The town can buy a vacant office building and convert it to low income housing.
The SF mayor is stupid to think that giving small loans to small businesses will solve the problem. Without the volume of customers to support the pop-up restaurants & small businesses, they will not make enough to survive, let alone to paying back the loans. The solutions r no brainers: lower the taxes, lower the rents, clean up the city’s crimes & homelessness, enforce stricter laws against crimes.
Make me wonder if these politicians r purposely working against improving the city.
Y'all got greedy
So when can the poor people come grab that land for pennies?
Frisco is trash these days
Grew up in California. Sad what a dump it has become. Move to a RED state and VOTE RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can I still get “free” Mac books and sneakers for back to school!?
Let's be real, the pandemic did hurt all of us but other cities have been bouncing back. The only reason why SF can't is because the crime rate combined with poor policies to defend local businesses, extremely high crime rates, even higher home invasion and car break ins, plus the growth of the Tenderloin crime scene pushing it's way into all of downtown is the REAL reason. I love how the media and politicians like to avoid that topic but the real people at fault are the law makers and DA being too easy on criminals because of racial optics in prisons. Defund the police and keep protecting the protected demographic and this is the recipe you'll get. We are getting the same issues here in Chicago due to the same reasons. Rent has always been high in SF. Crime is just matching the rent hikes is all. Who would want to live in a place where the criminals have more rights than the citizens?
You have them where you want them. Run them all out and buy cheap.
Call the Batman
Arkham is getting out of control
Help homelessness? To help them become stable and rise the economy?
what goes up…
must come…
They need to have some low-income housing projects.
They are never perfect but it is way better than,
Humans are forced to crap on the streets & other things.
They might be down on their luck but they are not going anywhere.
So, turn one of those giant buildings into low-income & temporary housing.
You can have social services & daycare so the parents can get a job & work.
Have a Community center that gives the older kids & younger kids a place.
Have employment classes All in one building.
You used to be one of the best cities to live with or without a home.
It is up to you to lower the rents, places are sitting empty because no one can afford them.
If you are selling eggs for $!0 a dozen, you are not gonna sell that many eggs.
If you lower it a bit, you still get plenty of profit,.
We do know this last round of inflation is very artificial.
All the Corporations from Oil to Electric & Gas to Food
The major Corporations are showing record profits.
Up to 300xs' what they normally make, that just doesn't seem correct or fair,
They raise the minimum wage, so, now they quadruple rents & living costs?
It is time you do something for your citizens that goes out to every city in every state in the Union.
It is time that the American Peoples's Tax Money Goes to help the actual citizens.
The citizens have been neglected for far too long.
They shut down the mental health system,
It was underfunded & prone to abuse same as the prisons, instead of improving them.
They closed the hospitals & overcrowded the prisons now, with not just criminals but,
The Mentally Ill was locked up & often beaten & abused because they could care for themselves.
It is past time to fix the issues that the actual people are having, I remember when rents were affordable .
In the City, both wealthy & poor, there was a place for every income.
It was a great city to live in, I'd move back in a heartbeat if it were at all affordable.
Fix it before you wreak it even more! IMHO
It's not because of covid. It's because of Bidenflation.
Another thing is people are simply bunt out on meetings. Whether on Teams or in person, calls have replaced the stalling and pony shows that another person mentioned. Recurring meetings should be avoided at all costs unless you’re on site and running a production line.
shouldnt have let the homeless take over
Thanks to politicians.
Multimillionaires and government: What can we do to revitalize our city?
Everyone: How about caping and lowering rent, converting useless office buildings into something the community can use, actually doing something to curb homelessness and drug use?
Multimillionaires and government: Say no more fam…..pop-up restaurants!!!
You can thank the enormous wage gap created by Silicon Valley greed.
Funny NO MENTION OF CRIME IN THE AREA!!!??
Enforce the law and everything will return to normal
