I dont get it. Why would parents even allow their kids to ride the school bus. Its so beneath me. Parents need to prioritize their kids and pick them up instead of being lazy. I work like everyone else. I stop working, pick up my kids, come home, and finish my hours.

Make the buses be run similar to Google Maps cars, as well as have, and/or make, special lanes, on the roads where the buses drive that no other vehicles can cross, and you will solve the bus driver shortage issue, as well as transportation issue, and you will also prevent idiot human drivers from plowing into the bus lanes.
Whatever you do DO NOT use rideshare apps to transport your kids. We don't get paid well at all. $3 per trip is shameful.
Remember when kids were capable of walking to school ?? … we walked MILES every day, sun, rain, snow… was part of being a kid, no big deal.

Didn't they drive these routes and time it to see if it was reasonable? Because that's what every school does, this was definitely some lack of judgment on their part. The shortage must be so bad that they are making several trips back and forth, but I can't believe that they wouldn't have already known how long it would take and could have told parents. Traumatized those kids, I'm sure.
With everybody they need to pay the bus drivers more than need to have better benefits for the bus drivers bus drivers are so it's essential to get especially poverty-stricken kids to school.
My child was to kindergarten with JCPS this year and I have decided to red shirt her until next year hopefully I'll have a vehicle by next year and if I have to take her to school I will be able to or pick her up

Bus drivers have an INCREDIBLE responsibility and they deserve to be paid a proper wage. I am so tired of the American underclass that continues to grow.
Get your kids out of public schools.
The school spend 200,00.00 on a firm to change their routes that’s the problem! Bus drivers don’t get paid enough to deal with this stress brought on by a Dept that can’t get the job done right. It’s not It’s not the It’s not the bus driver’s fault. It is the fault of the school districts that give all the money to the higher-ups to superintendents that whore that money for themselves and leaving students and TRANSPORTATION departments to suffer as a bus driver I know that all too well, and nobody could say otherwise, the bus drivers are innocent, and they have to pay for the problem by having the parents yelling at them for something they have no control over at all.

Failed the poor students and parents. These "authorities" would rather do insufferable harm rather than attract drivers by raising pay to a living wage. Everyone suffers except at the top.
Maybe stop depending on public schools to do everything.
If the students knew how to act on a school bus and were respectful maybe, more people would want to drive…but, I seen it first hand ….kids are horrible, disrespectful and school bus drivers are supposed to put up with unruly kids ?
Parents need to teach their children how to behave and be respectful and schools need to listen to the bus driver when or if they have a problem with the kids on the bus ! I seen kids throw stuff at the bus driver while the bus was moving, curse, punch, and several kids harrasing the driver because the bus driver was trying to stop a nasty fight between students. That should never be….you have cameras on the bus…this isn't a surprise. Parents better start raising their children and teaching Respect, Responsibility and common sense!
