So Joe biden made it illegal fir the railroad to strike right now? Wtf what happens if truckers threatened to strike? Does this mean we can longer strike now due to worker shortages? Am sorry but that's fucked up and anyone who supports Joe biden on this F*** you too. You folks who support biden realize what your doing right? Your giving away our ability as American workers to air issues at our employers with possible risk of getting fired. Jesus people are so sheeple hell no offensive but I predict if this bill that says its illegal strike can only image what factories and other places will be plus we may lose our rights as workers at the workplace. Wow Joe talk about another step back for Americans. Aside from race relations being pushed back before the Salma and MLK Jr Protests.
I am so loving watching Joe and the Democrat's giving it to the morons in the union who voted for them. The union members have no one but themselves to blame for this. I'm guessing these collossal idiots will continue to vote for those who did this to them too.
Dear union workers. Democrats just screwed you over. Blame yourself.
I fully support congress here. Those lazy, enttiled rail workers need to keep thier heads up, shut up, and work so that MY life isnt disrupted.
Every economic problem began with Biden's war against the U.S. producing its own gasoline/petroleum, when he took office.
When I worked at a grocery warehouse, we had 6 paid sick days every year, and 3 paid personal days.
Congress needs to be put in their place. They are not our bosses.
Joe Manchin is such a little creep
Sounds like they should probably give them the sick days
haha our glorified slaves are finally working for we the people,
YA NO MIENTAN MAS DIGAN LA VERDAD NOS MATAN AMORDAZADOS POR SU CULPA.
Its not just paid leave. Getting paid for time off was never the problem. Workers are used to taking sick days or any time off 24/7 on call without any pay. They used to he allowed 25% of the time to be unavailable voluntarily without repercussions for things like just going to the grocery store or spending a day with family, going to a doctor, driving your kid home from getting wisdom teeth pulled, i mean basic life things. They removed that from all railroads in the last couple years making them required to be on call 24/7/365 and any amount of time off for any reason is punished by points which quickly and have resulted in people getting fired even for taking time off to rest or sleep.
Its not economic harm thats the issue to individual employees. Its the lifestyle of fear and insurmountable despair and anxiety hoping nothing happens that they might have to use points and lose their job and end up unemployed.
As an example a man in our terminal, his mom in law died. He was given 3 days off bereavement. He normally would have at least some days to be relieved of on call status before last year could use those days for the month as needed to attend to life. His wife was mentally distraught and inconsolable. She needed help with the kids. Railroad denied any time off and he was given points for the time he had to take off to care for her, and he was subsequently fired. Thing is, the job once called isnt something you come home from at the end of the day. You’re gone 40 hours+ at a time come home for 10, then on call and typically back to work within 12 over and over.
Another railroad family had this to say:
“My husband had 33 points. He laid off sick Thanksgiving morning he had 102 fever and was throwing up. He lost 7 points . He woke up Friday still running a fever and throwing up. He checked the board at 8 am and was due out at 3 am Saturday. He was called at 10 am for an on duty call. They paper deadheaded and called a train that wasn't even on his lineup from another board. He accepted the call, when he got up he was so dizzy there was no way he could make it to work. He called the agent back and was laid off on call. He was charged with 20 points!
Since my husband was sick on a holiday he went from 33 points to 6, he lost 27 pts in two days. It's so sad and irritating, it could happen to anyone.”
Once you get to 0 you are suspended for 10 days without pay. Next time its 20 days. Third time you’re fired. And to earn back points you need to he on call 336 consecutive hours (14 days) to earn 4 points back.
Railroad employees no longer get the unpaid days they need to take care of even basic tasks like going to the bank during business hours etc. the time between trips may only be between 5pm till 5 am the next morning. And thats the only time they’re “in town” for 4+ days. It wreaks absolute havok on lives of families. And on top of that, there is little to no warning of when they will be called to work and no known timeframe of when they will be back home.
That 25%, 40 hours a week, was critical to railroad families lives and they were used to going without daddy a lot, and crammed as much as they could in that few hours a week. Often with the rail employee giving up sleep to make time. They took that 40 hours away and gave them punitive points.
They took 74 unpaid days a year away. most americans get 2 days off a week= 104 days per year plus scheduled afternoons and prescheduled sleep time, for most humans thats between 9pm and 6am. Not railroaders. (Most dont even know what day it is if you ask.)
You can get fired for just a hand ful of family obligations that dont line up with railroads minute to minute changing train lineups that resemble a houdini magic trick at times. Trains materializing and called without warning. Lay down to sleep for something that might get called at 9am, but instead called at 11pm to go to work on no sleep. This happens multiple times each week.
Railroad workers are exhausted. And all congress cares is that them having time to be a human will somehow inconvenience others and cost us $2B a day?
Let's this spark a nation wide general strike amongst all jobs a single spark can start a prairie fire
I think the rail workers need to scrape for a little bit of altruism after covid-19 we're lucky.. they're going to have to learn to buckle down just a bit.. and find a different career if somehow that one's not pleasing.. that's always the option.. the word want has to be removed from our brains.. we get spoiled in effect.. to having what we want.. maybe they should try to move to North Korea and use the word want
POR QUE SE NIEGAN A JUZGAR LOS MILLONES DE CRIMENES DE RTVE YA DENUNCIADOS OTROS TANTOS MILLONES DE VECES QUE ESTA PASANDO?.
…orrr.. just give them sick pay and call it day?
RR union have been fighting for this for decades; Govt. is able to send billions of doctors to everywhere in the world except for their own citizens.
My HATRED of arabs MUST BE ACKNOWLEDGED
Union Joe, claimed he was pro.
Yet sadly was, just another Corporate Bro.
The railroaders said they were tired and sick, asked to go home.
Union Joe said no, no, no.
He needed them to be a
corporate
Ho! Ho! Ho!
How much of your Union Dues went right into the DNC Bank Accounts.
You Reap what you Sow Losers🖕
Nice when the government can tell you when where and what you can make. USSA forever.

Gotta love that dumb as a rock- no offense to rocks- Malarkey Joe. He pimps his own son out to China what you expect? His ice cream flavor of the month is your wife's hootchie on his fingers.
Thank you President for saving our economy and supporting the railroad workers. They absolutely deserve the benefit.
Shut the MF’er down!!
IMAGINE HOW STRONG OUR COUNTRY WOULD BE IF CONGRESS SPENT THEIR DAYS WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED THEM INSTEAD OF THE PEOPLE WHO BUY THEM.
FORCING A CONTRACT ON ANY WORKERS IS SOOOOOOO WRONG. F@#^ING POLITICIANS…..WE NEED SICK DAYS,WE NEED TIME OFF…what don't you people understand, ? we have no time off we get zero sick days, congress sucks, the senate sucks and us union workers get a terrible contract forced down our throats is bullshit.
⅓ of the unions are still striking because they aren't getting anything they asked for like sick days and normal hours or for them to hire more people.
So they are willing to pay them more and give them a pay out but they can’t give them paid sick leave?
I hope they strike. Solidarity with the working class and the people who actually keep this country running forever
They act like they made a deal they made put they own deal smh hate this government
IN SPAIN YOU ENTER FREE ALIVE AND LEAVE DEAD CENSORED AND GAGGET.
Because government makes anything better? They are literally the problem. Since when does cancer cure itself ???
From what I hear, congress didn't do enough and they're still going to strike.
AUMENTAN LOS SUCIDIOS DE DOBLES CENSORES Y SANITARIOS DE PEDOFILOS BASTANTE ES DATO.
so they take away the sick days for the workers and then makes the workers out as the bad guy….
24% raise plus $16,000. That is absolute insanity. Make no mistake you and I will be paying for that through the cost of goods.
The rail workers are lucky they get the benefits they have. Shut up and work, instead of the holding Americans hostage with their outrageous demands.
