I’m not American 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼, but cannot understand why this so —called Second Amendment “right” to “bear arms” has degenerated into the absolute disaster for your country. My reading of the initial initial Second Amendment talks about “ allowing patriots to bear arms , and form militias, against foreign enemies, or aggressive government”, or words to that effect. They stipulated long guns and … ? Ok. But , sometime in the 80’s, a Republican dominated Supreme Court opened up the “ right” for anyone to “bear arms”, at home, then at large. This was the start of your ridiculous fantasy about weapons. Now you know why cops are scared of going to work, and teachers, and students, as well as your neighbours . Your country has gone absolutely mad over these stupid “rights” issues. In simple terms, if you are going to a gang fight , if you expect the other gang/ burgler, hustler, mentally deranged etc person has a gun, we tough guys have to bring a big/ ger gun. Wow! I have lived for nearly 69 years on this planet, and can honestly say l have only handled a gun a couple of times – to shoot one rabbit, and a few invasive fish. I, like most Australians ( and the rest of the world, apart from USA, Honduras, Gautamala, Mexico, Somalia, etc) are comfortably safe without guns. Wake up, America. The Wild West is over. If 21 is the age we determine someone is more mentally stable and an adult.
We need to increase the drafting age from 18 to 21. And also increase voting age from 18 to 21.
Why do we want a society of more likely mentally unstable and immature people to be drafted before 21 and also the ability to vote to make possibly severe changes when those people are not as mentally stable or an adult like a 21 year old.
