I think it is disgusting how the Democrats are voting against the rail workers 7 days of sick leave. a year. It is disgusting that the railway corporations do not automatically give their hard workers 7 days of sick leave per year. They should give them 7 days a year, and let it carry over from year to year, in case of emergencies.

This is my fifth contract with the railroad, NOT ONCE did we have a contract that we didn't give back something, this is bullshit, i'm sick of giving back it's time they pay us what we are worth. There is nothing in this contract that addresses our time held away from our home terminal, nothing about our meals or breaks, do you people realize we have to work up to 12 hours a day WITHOUT A BREAK OR LUNCH BREAK? that's right no breaks at all they pay us a lousy 2$ a day to work through our "lunch break" it's totally wrong.
a contract forced on us is not right, what's the point of having a union when the senate can force a bullshit contract on us? the senators all get sick leave and so do their workers, MOST WORKERS IN THIS COUNTRY GET SICK DAYS. we are not asking for a fucken arm and a leg…it's a week off for illness. this is bullshit they force this on us.

This could have really sent a strong message to huge corporations that they must negotiate in good faith with labor! Strikes are the only teeth a labor union has.
