Severe weather from coast-to-coast could impact New Year’s travel

As more than 100 million Americans travel ahead of the new year, weather is washing out parts of the West Coast with potentially deadly riptides and flooding. Meanwhile, the East Coast is being hit with heavy rains and the Plains are digging out after a dangerous ice storm. NBC News’ Erin McLaughlin reports.
