It's clear silverwood must go…I'd say relieve root of the captaincy as well but unless stokes stops bowling to concentrate on captaincy theres no alternatives. The English conditions are best suited for bowlers who swing the ball.. but Australia/southafrica are different places.. you need bowlers who if there is no Swing can bowl fast and show that in your face attitude.. England are down and out.. the way Aussie side is playing it's a 5 – 0 score card… It's like india is the only team that has actually got the fire power to beat the aussie team in there own backyard.. it's only because of virat and the teams attitude..

I’m sorry, but the england set up is nonsensical and the people involved appear to be fairly thick. And I say that as a one eyed England fan. We’ll lose this series 5-0 and a major part of the reason for that will be our own stupidity. I gave up on ashes series in Australia after the last tour as I knew we’d never learn and never win there again.

Really enjoyed this analysis from Ricky… after hearing this and seeing how they’ve played up to this point, it seems like the English have done poor homework regarding the grounds.
English brains trust are thinking too much in patterns ie going too far back into past Ashes series and what worked or didn't. "20 years ago Nassser put them in to bat and see what happened" or "in 2011 we had 4 tall accurate medium fast guys and that worked so lets do that"… Very static thinking.
It is really hard to see England batsmen consistently fail overseas. They come from one of the toughest conditions to bat against pacers and also have the biggest first class tournament. Won't be a bad idea to do a complete team restructure
As an Englishman this is just embarrassing. Root is a great great player, one of the best there's been but he's an average Captain and Silverwood has to go. Continually poor selections. We're weak at the top of the batting but there's enough quality there to make more of a game of it than this shambles. Everytime England has been successful in Australia they've had searing pace, but they pick a load of medium pacers.
