This happened to my son they gave us pure nonsense on my he was over paid. My son doesn’t work he was a child at the time. So how does he have an over payment when he doesn’t have any income but Ssi.

Isn't the SSA "required by law" not to make these egregious accounting errors. Where is the accountability? This has got to be one of the worst run and managed Federal agencies in the country. Utter incompetence at SSA. The government needs to bear the consequences of this.
Postal workers do not pay into SS, they have a different system, so she knew she was NOT suppose to draw that!!!! TOO bad so sad
Why ARE THEY NOT going after the ones who claim benefits who are scamming the system?!!!!!!!!!! SHE SHOULD OF KNOW BETTER, government employees are not suppose to receive SS they do not pay into it.

Also my brothers was cut from $840 to $246. He can understand why. They weren’t able to clearly explaine. Now with this report he might be able to do something.

This happened to my son after his stimulus checks! He was able to hold the money in his account for 1 year after the last stimulus checks. But they hit him with a 5k over payment bill because he still had his last $600 stimulus check in his bank account. Government is always the most disfunctional organization in the USA.
Government needs that money back so they can send it to Ukraine with the rest of our tax dollars…
IRS need to be charged per day for every day they don’t catch these mistakes. Y’all have one job… y’all can’t find out there’s a mistake two years later and ask for your money back.

I remember one of these stories a long time ago. The woman worked making like $500 a week and social security paid her $1,500 per week. And she decided that how much they were paying her was reasonable and didn't think she owed anything back to them.
Someone has to pay for all the migrants streaming in getting free housing and benefits. Hard working citizens are being penalized and being ignored. Seemingly no one to help these people, but lots of organizations to help freeloading migrants. Very unjust. Another example of corruption.

This happened to my mom. She verified MULTIPLE times that the amount had been correct, and they garnished over a year. It almost happened to me but I revealed the “overpayment” that wasn’t actually one was due to a bank error that put my mom’s assets as my own.
Social Security is a private account
Government employees do not contribute to Social Security
Congress are administrators not the government
Taxation on Social Security is double taxation and their calculations are theif of our personal property
A certified accountant will verify all facts not a judge
With Congress national debt that will cost every government employee their job due to terms of employment not laws
All is enough to demand Congress to get out of Social security and government employees will have to deal with Congress its not the American public business
But the politicians can steal it and its ok….the government scam never ends…
