Congress has only 1 of 3 choices. 1. Raise the debt ceiling. 2. Remove the debt ceiling. 3. Authorize the U. S. mint to create a trillion dollar coin. Those are the only viable options! Defaulting on the national debt, does not benefit anyone.

The current budget runs from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023. Period. Republicans do NOT get to blackmail their way into changing that budget passed by the previous Congress. When Fall 2023 rolls around, they will get their chance to participate in new budget negotiations, not a minute sooner. We don’t negotiate with terrorists.

I work for the Federal government. This happens all the time.
My Federal credit union honors my direct deposit paycheck as an interest free loan.
For me it is a paid vacation charged to admin leave. Not to mention a working day wasted planning for the furlough.
I feel bad for the food vendors that cater to our business.
