A billion thanks to Korean lawmakers for showing the world "traditions" that are bad or cruel can be changed!!
This demonstrates that "tradition" that are bad or cruel can be stopped and changed so that future generations do not grow up thinking it is "normal".

I honestly don't see the big deal, it's amazing to me how people are letting thier emotions control them simply because dogs are cute. We shouldn't judge a life's value on cuteness, if we can raise and farm pigs to eat, which have shown to be equally and in some ways even more intelligent than dogs, we shouldn't have an ussie with the same being done for dogs.
I thought they eat only specific breeds, but accodring to my internet research, they eat pet breeds like Labrador, golden retriever and so on… Shocking! 😮
However, if its their long tradition, they should keep it. People eat werid things traditionally and its part of culture. Korea cares about the western countries' point of view too much.
It is a source of food for some people in Asia. Cute little puppies are no different than cute little lambs. It's a meat source.

The dogs don't deserve to be in bad slaughterhouses, but I am tired of Westerners looking down on Koreans when Westerners consume beef, pork, etc. from questionable livestock farming.
As a Korean and animal lover like Fluttershy (My Little Pony), I definitely agree with this move. It's sick that the people who disagree about this treat dog meat as a 'tradition'. Also, about 200 dog farmers held a protest near the presidential office in Seoul on Thursday. The Korea Dog Meat Farmers’ Association—which has long opposed moves to crack down on the industry—also said that it was mulling the release of 2 million dogs near government landmarks in Seoul as well as the homes of lawmakers.
Their move is absolutely disgusting, using dogs as a tool for the protest.
