Nobody on that flight was in ANY danger. All modern 2 engine aircraft are designed to take off, fly and land on ONE ENGINE. The Captain and First Officer are NOT required to keep the passengers informed on every little detail. Their job is to AVIATE, NAVIGATE and COMMUNICATE with ATC. NOT do passenger announcements. This was a simple compressor stall probably from a bird strike.
