After hundreds of billions of dollars were stolen from Covid relief programs, the Department of Justice is working to identify and arrest those responsible. NBC News’ Ken Dilanian has the details as lawmakers ask Attorney General Merrick Garland for more data on the funds stolen by foreign criminals.

govt program often has no accountability because govt doesn't have something called bottom line profitability. Under a business model, we all have to rely on a profit margin that pays our salary, bonus, and stock option for the executives, but govt doesn't have any of that, in fact govt goes into endless debt that doesn't require paycheck, so there is no accountability when money isn't tied to their own individual bottom-line. If govt had a rule where budget is based on gdp, and anything more than gdp are deducted from congress pay first, then trickle down from there, there would be a lot of people doing more of their job.

The PPP was passed in March 2020 and ended in May 2021, so it was started in effect under whose watch? Congress even brought Mnuchin in and tried to hold the Trump administration accountable. Now they want “the Biden administration” to investigate”?
Trump gave money directly to a croney with no company and no employees and unrelatedly awarded government contracts to companies owned by acquaintances that never produced a single item for the pandemic…so God knows what happened to the funds. Minority owned and small businesses in general had trouble competing with large companies and rich people that already had connections with banks.

This makes me sick. I know of one person who should be ashamed but it's probably impossible to say it was a crime…she was a local doctor who had the misfortune of starting her practice about a year before covid hit. She bought a large old house that was previously an antiques store. She tried to really help poor patients and even offered to accept payment in any form. About a year in she got a grant from a covid fund. So she remodeled her clinic. Then she just up and quit last year with no warning at all. She told everyone it was because insurance companies were not paying her bills…HELLO…she could have used the covid money for that instead of the remodeling.
