it was what is called clear air turbulence and it can not be seen on radar.
Always best to keep seatbelt on despite the seatbelt light being off. It's not that uncomfy, if it is then just loosen a little. It's worth the time and effort to avoid this.
People feel so entitled when they fly. The pilots sometimes doesn’t even know when they are about to experience turbulence so how can they warn the customers ?. Turbulence sometimes happen unexpectedly.

The last time I flew we had a patch of turbulence that was some of the worst I had ever been through, come to find out it was the top end of Hurricane Ian before it ever made landfall in florida. I flew from massachusetts to Kentucky so not even in the region and we were effected
“They weren’t warned” I’m sorry but pilots can’t see turbulence. Only time you really know it’s coming is if another flight reports it. So saying they were nkt warned is just bs it’s turbulence if you were warned every time their was turbulence you’d be telling the pilots to shut up because you would get peace and quiet.
Wow, they should make an attachment for infants/toddlers. Those little ones slip right through the seatbelts and some people have lap babies. As some airlines make it difficult to bring a car seat onto the plane. but hopefully, this pushes them to encourage parents to bring more safety equipment for their kids or even provide them options for a reasonable price.
This is why always keep your seatbelt on while in your seat, just in case someone like this happens

It was the Bermuda triangle they were very lucky not to crash in the sea. Maybe they will do some research and figure out what happened. They were warned especially in the Bermuda triangle. Pilots do not know that's going to happen that's why they can't warn you.

LORD! I just got back from Phoenix, 2 weeks ago. I really hope all the passengers, crew all make a healthy recovery. Physically and mentally. This is something most people don't recover from easily. THAT had to be the most scariest thing ever.
They do always have the seatbelt sign on and tell you to always have it on going or coming from Hawaii
