It's weird that anyone in business would ever vote for a Democrat. They hate you.
In a nutshell, as companies get bigger, i.e. wealthier, they begin to use a lot of their wealth to influence legislation in their favor. They pay into campaign funding of Congress men and women and Senators. They pay into Republican and Democratic campaigns but Republicans get way more money on average than Democrats (a hedging of bets so to speak).. It’s no accident that Republicans have been responsible for legislation to make campaign financing more secret and for granting personhood rights to corporations. All at the behest of corporations rich enough to afford to do this. Not all corporations are wealthy enough to participate in this kind of activity. Democrats, in general, have no problems with the corporations that don’t use their wealth to influence government (and there is lots of them) but do have a problem with corporations that get so big that they virtually run our country. Republicans, in general, represent the wealthy corporations that buy them off. The greatest failing of our democracy is to allow corporations to influence government. It’s a failing of capitalism as well but the capitalists that do it wouldn’t agree to that perspective. Term limits would be a quick, encompassing stroke to make big changes to this, and other status quo.
