Stuart Varney on hot inflation under Biden: Are you better off now?

FOX Business host Stuart Varney argues the country’s ‘standard of living is falling.’

STUART VARNEY: I’m not looking at this as an economist or as an investor. I’m looking at this as a consumer, and I have to believe that most people feel that same sticker price shock.

You can see it on people’s faces in the grocery store.

There is anger. There is despair. Our standard of living is falling.

Are you better off now than you were when Trump was president?

  2. This is all being caused by Biden and corporate greed. These corporations are trying to make back profits from losses during the pandemic.

  5. $18 for a bucking beer 🍺 that's robbery don't they know that golf was made by white people so it's obviously racist f**** idiots

  6. NO, my salary is still the same as in 2016; my invested savings dropped 25% this year wiping out earnings from 2019, 2020, and 2021; I can't buy a home because the prices have doubled since 2016 and my salary had 0% increase

  7. Bidenflation turning into Bidenhyperinflation !

  11. Definitely. I despise a President that incited an insurrection on our Capital. That is treason.

  12. These are cheap compared to MLB ball park prices from 3 years ago

  13. All price in food must in low price.
Must working together from village until in the Cities, sea etc.

  14. Bring back the mean tweeter.

  15. No! Nobody is better off! This is ridiculous!

  16. Consumer spending has gone up a lot more than prices have increased. In 2021 consumer spending increased 25%, a lot more than 7% inflation. Contrary to what most people think most people are better off. For people earning between 20,000 and 100,000 income has kept up with higher costs. For those making more income income has gone up more than costs. Because they don’t have to spend everything they make. Only those making less than 20,000 per year have had income not keep up. Income for them has only gone up about 30% of their extra costs.

  17. I bet you are better off now. How much is in your checking account now? How much was in it exactly 3 years ago, before the pandemic? For most Americans the checking account is several thousand dollars more today. How about your net worth? Add up all your assets and subtract all you owe. Since average home equity increased $55,000 last year, and two thirds of us live in a residence owned by someone in our household it is very likely your net worth is a lot higher. Can you afford to pay your debts? Debt service as a percentage of after tax income is the lowest percentage ever recorded in the US. We started recording that 40 years ago. Do you have a job? The number of people who are employed is about nine million more than on Jan 1 2020. Those 9 million are certainly better off, right? Because so many more people are employed now median household income has actually gone up, even taking into account inflation. The average wage has not quite kept up with inflation but all that extra income from 9 million more people going to work has actually caused median household income to be higher, even adjusting for higher prices.

  18. Bears hibernate till winter is over….

  19. im not better off, what was it that the democrats always asked voters? are you better off now than you were 4 years ago? they have everything screwed up in less than a year. cant even imagine how bad its going to be in 4

  20. The deficit is down because most covid spending stopped and his stupid Build Back Better bill failed , he's taking credit for nothing . He's blaming Republicans for the bigger deficit under Trumps last year's when his party voted for it allso

  21. Do these white journalist understand they are part of the "White Supremacist" they talk about. They have labeled everyone white a supremacist. Even "White" Biden calls out this nations white people supremacist. Him and Hunter are surely "White" the last time I looked, and privileged. Yet, nearly half the country of minorities voted for Joe Biden. I guess minority neighborhoods are not poor enough. Joe has just sent you inflation beyond what you could imagine making you poorer than you have ever been. And $ 15.00/hour is now about $ 12.00/hour after the last two years of inflation. Enjoy. You voted for hi

  22. Things won't get any better. They want to collapse the US dollar.
