Unfortunately I doubt those sanctions bother Putin much. He has prepared for this for years. The only thing would've been a Western ban of his oil, but Europe needs it too much. Even so, he would still hold onto power thanks to the assistance from China.
One incredible piece of news is leaders of Saudi Arabia and the UAE declining calls from Biden. This is the biggest news of the year I think.
