It's pretty clear the leaker was trying to make sure people had time to vote on this. Makes sense: it would be pretty messed up for the court to "send the issue back to the politicians" only after people had selected their politicians without knowing this was an issue. It was the right thing to do. Fine, let it not be federal, let us vote…but let us do it with the knowledge of what is happening. It's only fair.
Sneaking this in after midterms would've rightfully caused all hell to break loose. Had they done that, I really would've given in to the idea of the court being political. As it stands, I believe it's not political: they just believe in constitutionalist law, and think abortion should be decided by the people's vote. Fine. Then let that happen fairly and with full knowledge.
