Josie, I wear wool trousers to work. I wear them with pumps or what you call court shoes. But I also wear them with block heels, loafers or booties. I love the second outfit with the cape, very pretty. I use to wear a roll/crew neck cashmere top or a silk blouse with jacket, with the wool trousers, I have a very similar camel pair of trousers. I know my looks are too formal for you, but you might find a lovely Josie type jacket that goes with the trousers and a roll neck top. Your third outfit with the white/ivory faux wrap style top would look great tucked into pin tucked loose pleated trousers or even a palazzo pant style. A lovely evening outfit. I know that is not how you dress anymore, but I would wear it like that to a nice restaurant in London. I think that both your top and bottom being form fitting isn't balanced appropriately. But I love both pieces separately. I also have a changed life style, I only go into work two possibly three days a week at most and because of Covid, I no longer go into the city. But life is starting up again as Covid numbers are going down, Hopefully we will start to go into Boston now, moving forward. I think the white wrap top with that beautiful pink maxi skirt would look lovely the next time you go into London for a special event (ballet, symphony, play). Wait until the weather gets warmer and the Spring social occasions start up before donating. You might regret donating it. You have a beautiful neckline, show it off with a delicate necklace. It is very funny, but I have a pair of boots that look like your Chloe boots, I do not know why I haven't worn them much. My excuse it that I wear the black ones more because it is so muddy and dirty around here in Winter and the black shearling booties don't show the dirt as much. I hope I start to wear my light brown boots more as the weather warms up and there isn't as much chemical rock salt on the road ways, sidewalks and parking lots. I do not want to ruin them, wearing them here in New England with all the sleet, snow and freezing rain. Feel better, sweetie.
Don't limit your style just because you live in country side, I would be disappointed if you swap all those smart coats and dresses for country casual look! At the end of the day , you are a fashion icon and should show us lots of styles! Personally I would love see you style one piece with a few more choices, for shoes, try it with different coat/jacket/leggins/trousers…, for clothing, try it with different boots/heels/flats, and that would show us versatility and give us a chance to go through trial and error with you !
Those wool trousers are gorgeous! I would style them with ankle boots in a similar colour to elongate the legs, or with brown knee high boots worn underneath the trousers. Add any cream jumper from your collection and it should work really well for your lifestyle.
Those wool trousers look so good, please don't get rid of them. Just put on a cashmere crew neck jumper and some loafers/mules

Josie, Many people in my neighborhood ask why I dress so nicely at home. I wear what makes me feel good about myself whether it is a midi skirt and jumper or wool slacks with boots. BTW…..I thought you looked stunning in the trousers….don't you have a pair of snakeskin embossed leather boots in the brown tones…..that would be my favorite for the trousers. I wear boots and loafers during winter season. I also will not buy an item unless I can style it 3 different ways…I think that was one of your tips about 4 years ago.

The sad truth is that those nice wool trousers just don't suit for petite ladies because of the length which makes the person look optically shorter. The only way one could pull it off, is to pair these trousers with fitted turtle neck jumper and extremely high heeled and extremely pointed toe shoes. This elongates the silhouette but you can imagine how uncomfortable and impractical it would be. Thus I recommend this trouser length to be worn only by really tall ladies. One does not have to wear the clothes/cuts/silhouettes/models that don't fit or flatter one's body shape, nowadays, fortunately, we have options.

Thank you for putting yourself out there with this video. I have a top that is a totally “me” style but I never end up wearing. I reach for it but it goes back on the hanger. I think it is ok to admit defeat and let someone else love it. Thanks for the advice.

Josie the trousers would be great with a ballet flat or a pointed toe flat or like a open heel with a pointed toe, then you could go for like a beautiful feminine or dramatic blouse and i feel like that would be right up your ally!
I personally detest the chunky heel Chloé boots, but adore the flag See by Chloe ones (I’m normally a snob with diffusion lines, but the SBC ones so cute)!
I’d recommend pairing them with a mini dress… maybe in linen or ramie; the maxi length of the knit dress ruins the line of the boots, which look so much better with a well-defined leg silhouette imo.
The Chloe boots look great with the black leggings, but will look even better with brown leggings (or beige).

Camel wool pants … Wear with a Victorian frilly puffed sleeved blouse and your studded sandals for summer.
White cross over top…. Add a sheeting blazer (vest?) and add those funky short shearling boots (either of them). Add a touche in cream with a pompom!
Also those camel pants could be tucked in with high wool socks with the Holland Cooper Wellingtons.
