Texas mother Melissa Lucio was convicted of murdering her daughter and is now four days from being put to death. But, new evidence is fueling nationwide calls to halt the execution of Lucio and grant a new trial to the woman who has spent the last 14 years on death row. Several jurors in Lucio’s case are now calling for clemency as a bipartisan group of Texas lawmakers asks the state’s pardon board to cancel Lucio’s execution.

A 5 hour interrogation is a lot of pressure for a person to deal with. Her lawyer should argue that the confession was given under duress. They should ask for a new trial . This is a miscarriage of justice.

I signed the petition to stop her execution. I never believed this woman killed her daughter. If she was a bad mother her children and her family wouldn't be fighting so hard for her. She needs to be granted clemency now! If you live in Texas, call Governor Abbott, and demand he give this poor woman clemency now!

Personally, my opinion is she is all of guilty. But the death penalty only serves to distract and divide people against each other. This costs taxpayers way too much money…and where are the childrens father(s)? Seems like they help physically create babies, yet show up for a party check from the welfare momma which is in effect stealing from her and their own kids they bred. Yet the daddy(s) are not morally or by law held to any standard for creating a situation and participating in these innocent childrens abuse?
